Metals – From minerals to identity-creating objects
A computer contains over 40 different raw minerals. Many of them are metals.
Mobile phones, tablets, video game consoles and other electronic devices also contains minerals. When we communicate we depend on metals. The metals connects us.
Where do the metals come from? How are they produced? What environmental and social consequences are caused by mining? How can we best obtain the metals that our society needs?
It is becoming more and more important to decide where we stand on these issues.
the Norwegian mining museum is pleased to presents the exhibition Metals – from minerals to identity-creating objects.
The exhibition is created by Karl Lindstrand, architect/journalist og Olof Löf, curator.
The exhibition has previously been shown at Malmø Museer and Østergötlands Museum.
17 September 2018 – 20 June 2019.
